    have the same size?

    in 683 there is a power outlet?

    It might be possible to get it working to a degree but not with all the lighting choices , other mods have been done on laptops hard wiring it to a spare USB port etc and a toggle added for on/off functionality.

    Not sure what the default color of the keyboard is ? , hopefully something like white and not hot pink :D .

    It will probably take sometime before the part even becomes available to order that someone try's there hand at modding it to a new system.

    There are some crafty people on the forum so i am sure it will happen at some point hopefully.

    So guys, let's go ressurect this thread. Any ideas? My gf's getting a gt780 soon, and I was thinking of modding her keyboard into my gx660 :D

    You would need a way of providing power to the keyboard. The fact the end is a ribbon cable makes things harder.

    I remember one of the retailers saying that you need an extra plug to power the backlight. I think it would be hard to mod the extra plug in there, but you never know...maybe someone could try using the side LED cables?

    so anybody ever has tried this mod?

    I am about to bite a bullet and try this... im most curious how does the keyboard line up in the GT683 Frame...? is it popping out-thicker than non-backlit, does it clip in right or needs to be fastened with double sided duck tape ?
