Heya people,
I would like to check some temps with you as i think there getting way to warm.
The reason why i ask is because i started playing a game( Sniper ghost warrior) and after about 25/30 minutes, the laptop just shuts down
I have bin playing some other games but this one is the first to show this problem.
I used furmark stability test to put the gpu under load. ( 1680x1050 )
Both temps given have bin reached after 100seconds
Newest drivers have bin installed but with the previous drivers i also had the same problem.
Following happens
Idle 63c
Standard clocks and furmark
700 1000 > 0x AA 109c
700 1000 > 4x AA 93c
When i underclock, ofcourse the temps go down but i think that is not the intention.
When i leave it running for a little bit on standard clocks and no AA it will shutdown within 4 minutes because its running to hot.
When i use 4x AA it stays running for a longer time altho temps also rise to 101 after 6minutes.
In the game itself i did not find an option to change the AA.
Only found Texture filtering.
Any ideas here?
(Laptop is about 3months old.)

Do this right now, you'll be around idle 50-53cLast edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
You seriously need to undervolt the card, if the vbios update doesnt work.
You hv already hit 110*C limit, thats like terminal damage if you continue to do it another time. -
Sorry that it took me some time to get around this but i had a small vacation so i was away.
Just tried it now and i notice a small improvement but not to much.
Idle
54/55c
Standard clocks
102c after 100secs without AA
91c after 100secs with 4x AA
Second test
102 after 100secs without AA
88c after 100secs with 4x AA
How do i go around in undervolding my card? and if i do that, what impact will that have besides lower temps? will it cost performance?
Because 102c without AA is still to warm if i am not mistaken right?
I tried to change the voltage in AMD GPU tool from 1.0500 to 0.9000 but it does not change
Thanks for the replies!

you have to use gpu-z to extract the vbios, mod it and flash it the same way you did before.
Undervolting has no-effect on performance.
P.S where do you live, i mean what are your ambient(room) temps? They make a lot of difference in temps. -

You should probably change the thermal paste.
Might need a copper shim for the GPU die.
Before you try this you should contact MSI and make sure it won’t affect your warranty.
Undervolting helps, but it wont be enough on it's own. -
I sometimes wonder how msi is giving 3yr warranty on such products which under such thermal stress as above have practically life of 36-48 months! ! !
