    Intel “Haswell” Core i7 Processor

As you may or may not know, the next generation gaming notebooks from MSI use the new 4th generation Intel Core i7 processors. Running on the new platform, the processing performance has increased by about 5% - 15% compared to the previous generation. The integrated HD4600 display boosts 2D graphics processing and 3D drawing performances by an average of 30%, while reducing power consumption and extending battery life. That means more battery life and more graphics performance when it is not necessary for a discrete graphics chip to be used.

    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770/780M GPU

The next gen GT Series comes with 2 NVIDIA GPU option, GTX 770M or GTX 780M. These next gen GPU’s are significantly higher in performance over the previous 600M Series GPUS, boasting more than 15% increased performance and lightning fast rendering speeds for smoother graphics and an extreme gaming experience.

    Super RAID 2

The GT70 Dragon Edition 2 comes with the all-new Super RAID 2, featuring 3 128 SSD’s in RAID 0. Super RAID kicks up storage access speeds from 1000MB/s to as much as 1500MB/s. In addition, a 1TB HDD is included for that added high-capacity storage for all your multimedia, work and games.

    Matrix Display

    MSI_4.jpg

MSI’s newest feature, the Matrix Display, is able to connect up to 3 external displays with 3 built-in I/O display interfaces. There is a VGA port, an HDMI port and a mini Display port that allows for 3 display outputs. You basically can have a total of up to 4 independent displays (which includes the native notebook display). This is perfect for those who multi-task constantly.

    Cooler Boost 2

MSI has improved their single fan cooling from the previous generation with Cooler Boost 2. Like the previous generation, the GT series is still able to manually enable Cooler Boost 2 with the one-touch button feature if you need that extra airflow during intense gaming sessions. However, how they improved the single fan cooling was through adding a thermal bridge that now connects the GPU chip and the processor CHIP for shared heat dissipation. This effectively decreases the average temperature by about 15%. Since it is also single fan solution, it requires less power from the system which in turn allows for longer use when running on batteries.

    Killer DoubleShot

The GT Series returns with the Killer Doubleshot, which is now a standard feature across all GT Series models. For those who are not familiar with Killer DoubleShot, this is an exclusive feature found only on MSI GT Series notebooks. It is a combination of both Killer E2200 Game Networking (Ethernet) and Killer WiFi that streamlines the network flow according to your preferred settings, meaning if you are gaming and downloading files at the same time, it will prioritize the network bandwidth for the game you are playing if you set it to prioritize that program over downloads. This is achieved with the Advanced Stream Detect program that will automatically prioritize the bandwidth of your programs, streams or games.

    Audio Boost

The Audio Boost feature also makes a return on the next gen models. The gold flashed audio jacks boosts sound quality with an integrated AMP that enhances the output to your headphones, increasing the surround sound quality for a better immersive experience.

    Sound by Dynaudio

    MSI_6.jpg

Like the previous generations of G Series notebook, Dynaudio is still the mainstay audio speakers on the next gen models. The crisp and loud integrated speakers are more than enough to fill the room with the sound of any multimedia or game that you are running. There is also a built-in subwoofer at the bottom of the unit to add that extra bass, providing a more immersive feel to your overall experience.

    Sound Blaster Cinema

MSI has upgraded to Sound Blaster Cinema this time around, making the already cutting edge Sound by Dynaudio speakers even better. Going hand-in-hand with each other, the audio system provides an exemplary surround sound experience on a notebook.
