Hi guys! First time poster here. Also posted this on Reddit but been lurking these forums for a while now and felt it was a good time to create an account. Hope it's okay I also post this here, I got so much decent info out of these forums I felt like this is the best place to ask.
Am trying to find some reviews on the GE62MVR but they are very rare it seems. Reviews on the GE62VR are easier to come by but it has a 1060 so I'm a bit worried about the thermal performance. Also don't know if it uses the same display. I need a laptop with good graphical and CPU performance for in-game engine 3D environment design, texturing etc (substance designer/painter, Zbrush..). The GE62MVR has a GTX 1070 but since the software I will be using is quite intensive I'm not sure if the cooling on this model is sufficient. Alternatively, the GE63VR has the exact same price here, but a GTX 1060 and a (hopefully high quality) TN-panel. More than decent color accuracy is a must for the type of work I will be doing but I read that the TN on the GE63VR is actually very good. A 1060 is okay for the type of work I will be using it for but getting the GE63VR while I can get a 1070 laptop with an IPS panel for the same price doesn't quite feel right. I'm quite techy (not a huge nerd but above average) and know what hardware I need but I'm mainly concerned about the display color quality and build quality of the machine.
I already had to return the Asus GL502VM because it could not handle the temps (or it was a faulty piece) so I'm trying to find alternatives. The GE62MVR is quite interesting as it has a 1070, an IPS panel and is more recent then the GE62VR (naming is quite confusing...). Though I can find little to no info on the thermal performance when this thing is under heavy load for extended time and can also find very little on the IPS color accuracy and sRGB color space coverage. Did find some reviews that seemt to be in Polish or Russian (not sure) but couldn't extract enough info for them to understand what was going on. Any owners of this model or anyone that has more info on it, I'm very interested to hear your thoughts.
Thanks all, links to both laptops I mentioned below.

GE63VR https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GE63VR-7RF-Raider.html
The 2nd link's laptop (GE63VR) has the same price here in the Netherlands but a GTX 1060 and a 120HZ TN panel (I could not care less about refresh rate, good color accuracy and 90%+ sRGB coverage is a must though). I always carry a big sturdy backpack with me anyway so size and portability is not a huge issue however the GT series are a bit too much for me.
Thanks again

I believe it's the 1060 chassis but with a 1070 in it. It's a hot unit, to be sure.

The 1070MQ is barely faster than the normal 1060. It's a waste of money for the most part.

I would go with the 63. If the display on the GE63 is anything like the screen in the GT73, then color accuracy, sRGB and refresh rate are excellent.
But other users know more about thermals than me. If the GE62 was originally made for a 1060, it will surely have more difficulty with a 1070, compared to the 63.don_svetlio likes this. -

Anyone knows the GE62MVR? (GTX 1070). Thermal performance? Hard to find good reviews on this unit
