I'm looking to buy a laptop on a budget, primarily for video editing and some modeling. I really like the GE62 but the CX61 is a lot more budget friendly, though at a price in terms of specs. I'm wondering if anyone has the CX61, if they think it could handle a good amount of short video splicing and editing, or if anyone has any thoughts on the performance of either of the machines I'd be happy to hear. Both have good reviews but I'm afraid of pulling the trigger until I get opinions that are more informed than mine. And as long as it's decent I would really like to save $400 and go with the CX61!

    Thanks!

The CX61 has a very base GPU, which is the reason for the price difference. For some basic stuff it should be fine, but if you are going to get demanding at all the GPU in there is just a very low end one. At the end of the day, it's a good PC, but just temper your expectations on what it can do.

    Thank you for the insight!

Thanks! This is the third time I have been recommended this model, which should make it an easy choice, but I told myself not another Dell... would you still recommend this Dell over others, particularly this Asus?

Dell wins because its i5 is a quad core vs the i7 ULV dual core, and the 960M beats the 950M due to GDDR5 memory vs 950M's DDR3.

I know someone with the Dell, and they love it.

Thanks for the recommendation. I guess now it's between this and the Apache!
