    There is even a BIOS for Clevo P7XXDM2/3 that will supposedly make i7-8700K work in that older chassi.

    It'd be best to wait and see in this case. No need to brick a ~$4k notebook.

    Secondly, do you run Linux on your notebook? There are some questions I'd like to pass by you sometime.

    Yepp, the notebook may turn into a brick and also one has to buy a i7-8700K to try it out. So, no I'll pass...

    Tried Ubuntu 16.04 for a while, but I'm happy with Windows 7 so that is the only OS loaded now.
