Hi all,
Just purchased the GT70 yesterday, runs games very smoothly on my C drive with no problems at all. However I am getting a lot of errors with my D drive, the 750GB 7200rpm Hatachi where the majority of the storage is. It lags constantly, doesn't load games properly, and my disk checking software has picked up SMART errors and I've tried to Check Disk using the GUI and the cmd prompt but it doesn't seem to make a difference in terms of the errors coming back.
What I have done thus far to my system:
Randomly converted my C drive into a dynamic drive in a state of confusion
Made the D drive into dynamic, erased it, then switched it back to basic.
When the D drive was in dynamic it would freeze up constantly and I would have to re activate the drive (Healthy At Risk, Errors in Disk 1). Now that its in basic its running a bit better.
So... Am I not supposed to install any games or applications on the D drive at all? Because everything runs fine on the C drive. I'm new to RAID setups, so I might have done something wrong. If anyone can give me some pointers, much appreciated.

Nope, you should be able to use your D: drive for anything really. It sounds like your Hitatchi drive is failing.
I would suggest contacting your reseller or MSI tech and seeing about getting an RMA to get the Hitatchi drive replaced. -

Did you brake up a raid array? -

Sounds like he has an SSD + 750GB drive to me since he talks about it providing the larger storage.
Also the drive should not give out SMART errors even if it was.
I'd return the drive and get it replaced. -

Well, remember the GT70 supports mSATA RAID. Since he didn't post his storage specs we can't be completely sure.
Am I using the GT70 wrong?
