    Awhile back, I bought this model of laptop on newegg for 799.99, minus 100 dollar rebate.

    Doing a search of this laptop, I notice that the cheapest price I could find is 950.

    Here is what I am wondering: Is it by chance some sort of collector's item?

    I doubt that, prices go up and down, they dont produce that model anymore so that could be the reason for the price hike.
