    Hey eveyone,
I put AC5 on both my cpu and gpu, but still have temps around 95-97C with furmark (i flashed my vbios already). I was wanting to know if putting AC5 in place of the thermal pads that cover the memory chips on the GPU was a good idea or not?

    Thanks

Furmark is known to stress a GPU far beyond what it would normally experience. 95C temperatures on a notebook (with limited cooling power, small chassis, etc) on that benchmark is fine.

What are your temperatures when running standard games and/or 3d Vantage?

In Crysis i'm hitting around 88C. I don't find 3d vantage a long enough benchmark to give accurate measurements of temperature.

I did it and now I dont seem to get past 86c even in BFBC2 for 3hrs(maxed settings). Its just like a furmark, because it uses 99.998% of the GPU! The oc on the gpu was @ 800/1000 (from stock 625/1000) :)
    Watch this:
    YouTube - BF:BC2 MAXED-OUT all the settings - MSI GX640
-Fraps show the fps in the top left
-Settings are in the first 10secs of the video
-Temps are at the end, after 3hrs of play

I used Arctic: MX-3! Its averaged about 2-3c better than AS5.

Another thing i was concerned about was AC5 being conductive. Will that be a problem?

Only if you use so much that it "squishes" out from the application area when you put the heatsink on the part.

    MX-3 is not conductive. ;)
It doesnt cost a lot more and it will give you better temps to!

Eh, just use other thermal pads. Thermal pads also act as shock absorbers, you know, for those unforseeable accidents.

I recommend BergQuist 1-mil thermal pads. Buy them from an eBay near you! Just be warned that they can be thick, so you might also need a copper shim to level everything out.

mate your temps are fine, i reach around 89oC max when playing on a hot day for like 4-5 hrs straight. But normally i would have to say my average temps are around 83-85oC. This is with just the removal of thermal pads and adding mx3 on chips etc. But when I take my backplate off temps are a lot better although I havent tested in game due to cumbersome positions. Temps without black plate on furmark has 86oC and with was 92oC, so big difference imo. I will we drilling more holes in the back soon and i suggest you do the same.
