Since you guys know best, I'll go ahead and ask. Given MSI's track record, do you guys expect them to ship a 15.6" laptop with the highest-end nVidia 680M to compare with the Clevo/Sager alternative? Or would this offering only happen with their 17.3" notebooks?

Since both models have identical cooling it's likely they will, however as to what regions they will ship it.....

That would hardly matter, with resellers like XoticPC around... The important thing is if there's a powerhouse 15.6" MSI model coming up, it'd be worth it holding myself back from pulling the trigger on the Sager/Clevo offerings currently, and waiting to see how the notebook market is when the 680M finally arrives!

Well if they put it in the 17.3" model you can use that heatsink in the 15.6" machine and the bios unless something is really sqrewy with the card itself will be fine.

Hmmm... I'd rather have a high-end machine out of the box, rather having to do all for this being on the other side of the world from US, it's not too easy getting these parts and accessories through multiple shipments and what not.

Im on "idle" mode right now.
Dont know what the price will be, but if I find it in Europe, I'd pick one up with gtx680m. But only if the price is right.

If not...then....dunno. Prolly gonna get something else.

The 16F3 with a 680M fitted by a retailer is likely to be your best "value" option for it.

*shrugs* my crystal ball does not reach that far.

Though some offered barebones with the 580m.

Hmm... barebones leave a bad aftertaste. I'll just wait till the 680M comes out, then decide. Thanks! ;)

A bad after taste? Now I am confused.

Barebones by definition are customised by you, for you.

Plus mine comes with a better touchpad than the retail :)

Well it would help if you waited for the 680m to be launched if that's what you want.... You can hardly configure for a part that does not exist yet.

But powernotebooks let you configure a 16F2 with a 580M.

Would the size of a 15.6" be a problem in terms of heat or space for a 680m? And would they be released later than 17.3" 680m laptops?

Alright, so once more I must play the waiting game.. :)

I suppose there shouldn't be any problems, if the 680M is supposed to compete with the 7970M, in the 15.6" Sager.
