We recently refreshed our MSI notebook line with new Intel 5th Gen Broadwell processors and i wanted to share the difference in performance over the previous gen processors. Compared to something like the i7 4720HQ, you can see a performance gain of up to about 20%.

Broadwell is also supposed to have better integrated graphics right? Though I doubt we would be using those too much heh. Do you have any info on temperatures between haswell and broadwell Geno?

    Thanks for the info :)

I'm afraid the said improvement does not translate into beneficial real gaming fps increment especially if you compare the same class core i7 4720HQ with core i7 5700HQ. The tangible benefits can probably be seen in other applications.

Man, I really want the 5th gen GS60, but the US region doesn't have the Gold ver. out yet. :( :( :( Maybe before Win 10 they'll release it..
The battery life is better on these Broadwell laptops too right? By how much?

@MSIGeno, for the mathematics calculation can you provide clocks and times, thanks.

Perhaps the heatpipe configuration tells a story ;)

Reading the review (you might want google translate) it seems to do very well.
