Ok i have just upgraded my receiver for my computer room to a denon 889 7.1

The problem is when i connect my GT 735 to it i dont get 5.1 through my HDMI. Now when i had this hooked up out in my living room it had no problem with the HDP protection.

A little background with my setup in my room. I have a t260 for my main display in my room. I have my receiver hooked up to it so i can have many things hooked by hdmi to my monitor. So i have an HDMI cable going from my receiver to my monitor. Then i have an HDMI going from my GT 735 going to my receiver.

Now it outputs video perfectly but the audio it will not allow 5.1 audio to go through my HDMI cable to my receiver so i get 5.1 digital. Do you think it could be the hdmi cable not being good enough? It did not say it was HDCP compliant or anything.

So what do you think does it work for you guys.

Ok little update. It is not the hdmi cable. Is not the 3850m HDCP compliant?

Pretty sure on that model you have to go to the realtek audio manager and enable digital output. (make it the default).

Yeah i am not getting anywhere. I take it though that the 3850 i have in my laptop is HDCP compliant and should give 5.1 pcm no problem right?

Hehe, its good to know you got it sorted, occasionally it just takes a set as default, on some HDTV's mine automatically will do audio and video, but sometimes on others its down to manual im afraid, not sure why like.

Yeah i am running an computer monitor that has an hdmi input. And a fiber optic output for sound and i had to disable that before it would work.
