Hey I'm really new to this, so:
I'm building my first custom gaming laptop, and I really want to get the 16f3 680M barebone and customize it myself. However, I'm completely clueless as to which processors will fit with this model. Does somebody know if the Intel i7 3630QM is compatible? If not, any recommendations? I don't want to spend more than 200 euro/270 dollars.

    Any help would be appreciated

The Intel HM77 mobile express chipset is made for i7-3630QM. it's also backward compatible with 2nd Gen core i7 mobile processors.

You see M at the end stands for mobile CPU and i7-3xxxx stands for 3rd Gen and Q stands for Quad Core.

    i7- 2670Q M meaning it's a 2nd Gen Quad Core mobile processor.

    i7-3820, it's a 3rd Gen desktop process without the letter M.

Your machine can fit pretty much any 2 series or 3 series mobile processor, i'd recommend sticking with the 3rd generation and that 3630qm you listed is a good one, it's the minor refresh over the 3610qm (just a +100mhz speed bump).

Thank you so much for the help, now I'm just deciding between 1600mhz ram instead of 1333mhz, or an extra 100mhz in processing :p
