First of let me say, I am glad to report that I have just learned that companies like Dell and HP are not the top, rather utter crap from what I have read. I never heard of companies like Sager, and MSI, and let me say, that they are lot cheaper, and supposedly lot better.

I am planning to buy from XOTICPC the FORCE 3551 (Built on MSI-1651)

    Specs:

    -15.4" WXGA "Glare Type" Super Clear.etc (1280x800) - MSI
    -Intel® T9400 45nm "Montevina" Core™2 Duo 2.53GHz w/6MB L2 On-die cache 1066MHz FSB 35 wat
    -nVidia GeForce 9600M GT 512MB PCI-Express DDR3 DX10
-2gb of ram [just upgrade myself]
    -320GB 7200RPM WD or Seagate

    $823.53

I can save 20us if i got down my hardrive size, since i delete a lot of stuff, but still i think that is a great price since i was going to pay 1200+ for a xps 1530.

    QUESTIONS:

    1. Is this a good deal? or can i go cheaper :)
    2. if you have one, what type of games can you run in your experience?, i have read you can play many recent games fairly well.
    3. is 1680x1050 resolution worth an extra 100us?
    4. what is Intel® Robson Turbo Memory, i read about it, but so confused
    5. from the pictures it doesn't look thick, looks sleek, is this accurate?
    6. any problems, i read something about brightness, heat, overclocking [is this customizable, like if i don't want it]?
    7. Not sure if this is a good deal for ram, 60us--4,096MB DDR2 800MHz KINGSTON HyperX Matched Kit - Low Latency CL5 (2 SODIMMs) Dual Channel Memory SPECIAL! ( + 60 )
    8. just overall experience with the company, and mainly the laptop

Thanks you for the help in advnace.

    1. overpriced the way you're configuring it, get the best not easily upgradeable parts first (screen), and chill out on overpriced cpu's(t9400)
    2. crysis, medium settings, everything else high settings
    3. yes, yes it is.
    4. it does nothing

    Here is a better configuration:

    -1680*1080
    - P8400 (1066mhz)
    - 2GB RAM
    - 250GB HDD

Upgrade the RAM & HDD when you feel like it, the P8400 is more than enough unless you're encoding video or something.

    thanks for your reply.
As far as the resolution, what are the benefits.

Right now my current laptop has a 1280x800, i really don't understand the benefit of a higher resolution. All i read is that it is good to read news, you can have more icons on screen, and more windows open.

Also for the processor, the processor for the 2.53GHz w/6MB is 115us. I thought the higher the processor the better, especially for things like games.

    - Higher detail, more real estate.

    1280*800= X pixels
    1680*1080 = Y pixels

X/Y*100 = A% more real estate, and A% more detailed

get the 1680*1080 and you won't go back to 1280*800 again.
