Hello, I've been lurking here for a while but now have a few questions that I can't seem to find the answers for. Forgive my ignorance if this is a dumb question but I read that on AMD desktop models the motherboard for the single core was compatible with the new dual core processors when they were released and was wondering if this would be the same for the 1039. I figured since it would be a barebone system that it would allow people to remove the processor but didn't know if this was even possible. Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately, no, the Turion X2 will use a different socket than current single core Turions.
