Hi all and thanks for reading....

I am having a "new and different" problem with my 1029 LCD. It seems like its missing a color over the whole of the display.
Perhaps its the "blue." (Not certain because I am terrible with what colors make what.)

So let me give a little background....
    1. It was working fine this morning.
    2. When I turned it on early this afternoon, it was screwy.
    3. Generally I leave the lid about 1 inch from latched, angled, to keep the cat from sitting/scratching/whatever on it. (is this really bad?)

Here is what I have done do far....
    A. Unplugged it and removed the battery for about 30 minutes. (read somewhere here about this "resetting" things sometimes.)
    B. Used the D-sub out to confirm the output is correct to an external monitor. Its is, it shows up fine, other than the wide vs normal aspect. (But I didnt want to bother setting up the correct ratio just to test the color.)
    C. Currently, I have started the clock on leaving the battery off for 24 hours. (along with no power, of course)

    So may questions include....
    I. Does this sound like a driver issue to anyone? (it doesnt to me, but what do I know?)
II. Whats the likelyhood there is something wrong with the display adaptor given the video out is the correct color?
III. Before attempting to get warranty service, what other actions should I take? Perhaps a "can of air" and removal of the component cover? Anything else?

    Thanks for any input.

first possible component is going to be called the inverter for the lcd, connections between it and the lcd.

Frequently goes bad. usually though it causes problems with the light. You may be describing a problem with the light you might not I couldnt figure it out.

Stamar; Its not the back light. With out the blue(?) its actually to bright.

I will see if I can check out the inverter, thanks.

Can you try taking pics of the screen? I'm not quite sure what you're talking about.
