So now that i have a good bag for the NB, i take it places. I'm in the library right now and its pretty quiet... as expected, but its so quiet that i can hear a noise eminating from my laptop I've never heard before. Its very faint but currently driving my insane.

Its a very quiet beeping that i know i won't hear anywhere else but the quietness of the library but now that i know its there i listen for it.

Its a beeping, pulsing at about 4 or 5 beeps a second. It stops when i load up a browser but then doesn't stop after Firefox is up. Oddly enough, I've found that when I have Winamp on, it stops.

So right now I am in the library with my NB's speakers muted and winamp on. This way the beeping ceases. But there has to be a better way to stop it, or at least an explanation.

Hold the phone, I just turned off Ad-aware from running in the background and it stopped. WTF? Can i not run Ad-aware without the noise? Any ideas... or should I just stop procrastinating and get back to studying? :(
