hiya-- new to the laptop world, with many ?'s like how many backlites in lcd ? does it matter? what's the sound quality thru the headphone jack? i 'm gonna be usin the laptop beast to try and harness the cpu hogs of music making ie. sonar daw and wonder if amd ml-40 is up to snuff? is the 1036 durable enough to take to gigs? altho most of the time it will be dtr in home studio-- are the usb ports powered to say run an external sound card interface? will the bandwidth of 4 pin firewire port be affected adversely coming from a 6 pin source?? do you guys know if a future 17" laptop by msi will have a firewire port on the side--instead in front?? does your dog bite?? (ha) do i go with a brand like hp dv8000 or a configured 1036?? i'll stop for now and would appreciate any enlightenment thanx for time&effort
