I gather information from various sources, including this forum, which drives are compatible with my open M2 slot. I've never purchased an M2 nor messed around with any of these devices.

Can someone let me know if I am correct in this statement of compatibility.

I should be purchasing an M2 SSD SATA (6gig) card - I have an existing 128gb card in now, I haven't looked at the RAID config yet, but I would assume that I need to purchase a 128gb card to setup raid0.

Does anyone have any experience or a recommendation?

This laptop is great! I picked it up for $1,599 from Microcenter (970M/6700i7)

    Thanks all.

    That is an awesome PC.

that PC does not have 2 m.2 slots, only one so you would not be able to do a RAID on it.

If you are wanting speed i might recommend one of the samsung 950 pro drives as those would work in it. If you are just wanting a larger size i'd stick with samsung and go with the 850 evo.
