Will It looks like I'm gonna have to save up and send my MSI in for a repair, the spacebar is getting stuck again. I've tried blasting compressed air into it, I've tried using a lens cleaning wipe (the ones I buy are great for just about any cleaning, not too much moisture, but not skimped either, just right.) Short of attempting to pull the key off (which I heard wasn't a good idea.) I think i'm gonna have to open a support ticket and go from there. Thank goodness I kept my Sager.

Better to send it in rather than risking physical damage to the machine.

What I figured. At least I'm not SOL when it comes to loosing portability. I still have my Sager. Enduro sucks, but at least once I get it working, the 8970M is still a good card. I just wanted Nvidia and furture-proof myself even more and figured short of SLI what's more future-proof than the new 980M? lol.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
The 980M with no optimus is going to be pretty long lasting.

Yeah no kidding, I love the 980M in my MSI and love the MSI, it really sucks the spacebar is messed up. I love how the MSI will LET ME pick from the dGPU or iGPU with the button and not have Optimus or any other auto-switching crap. Though I would take Optimus over Enduro any day of the week, but would rather just take the battery hit and use dGPU 24/7 or have what MSI did with the manual switch even if it requires a reboot.

The inclusion of that button to select the GPU was a nice surprise in the GT72, along with the much improved cooling system. That alone made me consider upgrading almost on the spot haha.

Hey guys. Got my gt-72 and I friggen love this thing. Runs all games way better than my brothers ps4 (which he cant even take with him anywhere). Only problem I have is sometimes I like to surf the web in bed prior to sleeping. When I wake up and prepare to do my work I plug her in and hit the power button only to receive a black screen. No matter how long I let her charge it doesnt go away. Only thing to rectify this malody is to forcefully boot her with the power button. I'm pretty sure that's not good for the laptop. Then the laptop turns on just fine and works like a gem. It's just a pain in the because I'm worried about causing damage to this thing. Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions? Also, at high volumes the speaker gets a tad bit fuzzy. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks.

Do you mean if the laptop is put to sleep it does not wake up?

Try eliminating a program you've recently installed, but if it doesn't resolve it then backup your data and perform a factory recovery. -

Hi there!
I Need your help. My GT72Pro Displays dark colours in an interlaced way. At first "black" was also displayed as interlaced, but after downloading the new Dragon Center Version this issues was gone.
Still I am left with dark colors that look like the black was interlaced. I contacted Support, but wanted to know, what you guys think.
I took a picture of the issue (care to zoom in please):
Please take into account that the issues does not appear in the start logo screen nor when I turn my desktop wallpaper completely black. I as well does not happen with light colors.
Best regards
phila
P.S.: It seems I can get rid of it by adjusting gamma in Dragon Gaming Center - but trying to "save" the Settings are not applied... -
Hello again guys,
Since nobody answered I'm gonna ask again
I ordered a gt72 pro211 with no ssd. I bought it from ibuypower and sent them a mail if there will be a m.2 bracket included and they replied that there won't be any. I'm gonna insist to make them send one because i think it's my right as a customer to have an adapter which comes with stock pro-211. Well it's really frustrating but I already purchased 2 kingston ssdnow 120gb m.2 and I want to use them with raid 0. I need some help with what kind of an adapter i'm going to need? -
Kevin@GenTechPC Company Representative
There's no spare adapters from the local MSI office except from the factory directly unless the local office starts to order spare parts in large quantity. -
What should i do then? I already ordered 2 ssds with m.2 sockets? Can u pls help me with this? Thanks a lot? -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
They left out the adapter and have left only one sata gen II port and the optical bay?
-

Meaker@Sager Company Representative
In which case that's stock from the factory and not taken away from you.
-
Kevin@GenTechPC Company Representative
Otherwise, you will have to settle for performance loss through ODD modding, or to return the M.2 SSD for standard SATA SSD.
Because you only have 1x SATA III + 1x SATA II + 1x SATA II (ODD). -
Hello, new here but glad to see so much positivity towards this machine! I just ordered mine from Newegg, the GT72 047 with the GTX870M.. From posts in this thread I also ordered the M.2 to SATA adapter, some cables, and will likely grab a hard drive before too long... If I really want it, I'll already have everything I need to do the upgrade this way.. But I'll probably just play with it as-is for a while. This machine will be updating a Dell Vostro 1500 I bought in 2008, so I'm really not even worried about not being satisfied LOL.
Now I have to admit to not reading through the entire thread, so I may have missed this: I've gathered that the M.2 adapter card has four available sockets, and my question is, does each filled socket show up as a completely separate physical drive, or does the M.2 card combine the four automatically? I would assume they're all separate based on the ability to have an M.2/SATA adapter actually work (don't think auto-RAID would work too well with a few SSDs + a regular hard drive), but just figured I'd ask. I'm well versed in computers in general but I have to admit some of this new stuff out in the last three years is pretty intriguing haha.
I might have a few more questions or comments once I actually get the computer, but unfortunately that won't be until Christmas due to my job as an OTR driverthanks for any help in advance!

What if i add only one ssd to my gt72? Then they'll have to include this part right? I don't think i can find this adapter from msi in time. As i said, idon't have much time left in us and it's almost impossible to find such a piece in Turkey.
Thanks for attention btw, much appreciated. -

Hi Guys,
Got my GT 72 Dominator Pro-445 this Wednesday. Everything was looking perfect, until I noticed an issue Yesterday. When the screen is full black (during boot or sleep mode), a yellowish spot appears at the top right corner of the screen and you can only notice when the screen is pitch black. I bought this one with IPS panel, so its driving me crazy and thinking about returning the product.
Does anyone faced this issue? please reply back. Is there any solution or any reason what may have caused this? Any help will be highly appreciated. -
-
I don't know what SKU is?
I already purchased this from ibuypower but I didn't want a ssd because I already have 2 kingston ssdnow 120gb m.2 and these are much better than the stock ones.
I'm gonna contact ibuypower if they can include this bracket, if not I'll add one stock m.2 ssd so they will include this bracket.
So i need one of this right?

I tried to contact my local retailers about the bracket, one said no, other one said don't know (they can't open the package), and the last one said to ask their MSI rep and come back to me (which still hasn't to this day).

I'm gonna ask ibuypower to add one ssd with m.2. I think this way they'll include this bracket. U know if there are any variations of this bracket? For example if i add only one ssd then they will use the same bracket with 2 m.2 outputs or another one with only one m.2 output?
If brackets vary I'm going to return these kingston ssds and update my order with 2 or 3 stock ssds with raid 0. Actually 3 128gb stock ssds are cheaper with more storage and performance but I don't trust'em. Anyways I'm not going to use a gt72 without any ssd in it. The bad thing is I don't have much time left here. We'll see.
Need my last questions answer tho. Gonna contact with ibuypower tomorrow, I need to know that. -
Hi guys,
I have the m.2 connector with the 4x 128gb m.2 drives in it.
I will be removing one of the 128gb m.2 drives and replacing it with a 1TB SSD (via a m.2 to sata connector).
What software can i use to clone the OS over as i will be stripping all 4 drives together.
ALSO:
Following that I will be using the secondary SSD as the downloads and may update to a 2tb spinpoint later on.
3rd slot (CD tray) will be another 2TB spinpoint which will be to backup the stripped drives -

And MSI has that "if you are not happy with your laptop, return in 60 days and get full refund, no questions asked", I believe it's the same in US.
File mode is particularly useful when (or if) the cloned drive can't boot up.
There're many other brands available: Paragon, Acronis, to name a few.

Yeah that's not good, does it change if you gently manipulate the corner of the bezel?
-
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Interesting so that's a fitting issue of the bezel rather than a panel issue. You could ask your reseller if they will adjust it or if they are happy for you to do it.
-
Thanks! I'll get in contact with them. Hopefully it isn't a design flaw.

It's to do with the bezel mounting being a bit too tight at the edges, perhaps the IPS display is just a touch thicker making the tolerances needed on assembly a little more strict.

Is this a issue with all the ips msi gt72? I was going to get one but if this is happening I might downgrade and just get the TN panel?
-
Kevin@GenTechPC Company Representative
May need to check with MSI to verify. -
Hey folks, I have a (possibly stupid) question about the USB 3.0 ports on the GT72. I've been having a look online but haven't been able to find a clear answer so far, I don't currently have access to the manual.
Are all of the USB ports powered? The reason I ask is that of the two USB ports on the right hand side, only the back one works properly with the Xbox PC controller. If the front one is used it works fine for a few minutes then stops responding.
I've disabled Selective Suspend in the Power settings already but it's made no difference.
Thanks. -
took 2QE
I saw that my model has the screen ips lg philips, excellent
I have 32 gb kingstone 1600
only thing 'change the m2
I think with plextor M6E,
it would be interesting to see if the samsung xp941 work
I have coupons for the games? -
Kevin@GenTechPC Company Representative
Are you using stock OS? -
Hi all. Been following this thread for awhile but haven't seen if the screen can be easily upgraded with another brand 1080p IPS or 3/4k lcd screen. Does this laptop use the typical 30-pin connectors?
