Yes I totally understand that for a GPU with such uncertainty like the GPU Boost and what clocks it really operates at, made it difficult for you. And I do appriciate the benchmarks you came with, just that it was a little incorrect of you to boldly say that 780M should score 6800 when we had other benchmarks that proved otherwise. Other than that, it was a nice little chart you made. Especially the temperature measurements since that is just as interesting as FPS numbers (to me atleast).
So don`t take my critique as something offensive or negative :)

As for now, it seems that GTX 780M stock vs 680M stock is about +30% in average for the 780M. Pretty amazing. But once they overclock, who knows, maybe somewhere around +15-20%. I know Reborn and SVL are still working to remove the throttling that occur thanks to GPU Boost when overclocking. Meaker will also get 780M and I`m sure he can push the GPU to its limit. We will find out sooner or later.

Official date is unknown, but expected to be around Computex. I think at this point it depends on Intel more than nVidia, considering there is far more info leaked from nVidia than Intel.

Actual resellers do respect MSI NDA, so that's why there is little info on most major resellers around here. Random stores and certain sellers might just not care?

    LOL! Whack-a-Mole, I like that! HALARIOUS! :D

Naw, I am not worried about getting mine. It's a done deal, and I know mine is coming from a reputable reseller who will make it the best possible experience, it can be. SOON Bro..... very soon we will all be enjoying this awesome notebook!

Thanks for the kind comment on the previous thread, but it's all the owners, and their contributions to be appreciated. Hopefully the GT70 2OD thread will be of equal merit. I am really looking forward to this new notebook.

    :)

    Here's a shot of the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 (7260HMW)

It should be available as an upgrade at about the time Haswell notebooks are officially shipping or soon after.

    Metro Benchmarks

Here are a couple Metro Last Light benchmarks that use the identical benchmark settings as NotebookCheck.com. A nice fps bump with the GT70 2OD - i7 4700MQ - 780m when compared with the i7-3610QM - 680m...

These are Ultra and High settings.

    Enjoy

Its gonna be a nice change when I upgrade.

I've only tested BF3 so far on my new lappy and seriously it is amazing how much better it runs on stock. I have every setting to max (including AA) and still get min 50FPS on full 6 man servers, upwards to well over 100FPS in certain locations.

    Nice benchmarks Godfather!

Yeah, that doesn't surprise me. New generation CPU combined with new generation GPU released in limited quantities before official release date along with all the anticipation when it is released, it is no wonder.

Glad I grabbed mine when I did because these will go fast when officially released. If it is anything like most releases that sell out quick, you will no doubt see these up on ebay for a ridiculous price as stock diminishes....

    I know I am enjoying mine! :D :D

Definitely beats Alienware. Anyway, do any of you guys know where I can buy this thing in the Netherlands? Can't find it anywhere :(. Also, I don't want to buy it from America, cus taxes and shipping are way too pricey.

Honestly I was about to buy GT70 0NE (GTX680M), but then I heard about this. If someone could help me, that would be great!

I`m curious if the noise really have been reduced from earlier GT70 models. Thats something I`d like to know since MSI have this new heatsink inside now which they claim will reduce noise and temps

Yes noise has been reduced. The laptop idles nearly silent and fans don't kick up often when not gaming. It's like the heat sink shares more heat evenly between the CPU and GPU.

    I see you didn't get the 3 x 128GB mSATA Super Raid and only 2 x 4GB ram.

Can you tell me if 2 USB devices can fit in the USB 3 ports on the left side at the same time?

The second USB 3.0 port right next to the other is useless if they both can't be used at the same time.

Do you know what is the version of the Intel Raid Utility on the shipping GT70-20D?

Is there any major difference in hardware between the GT60 and GT70 aside from the screen size? Fan, speaker etc?

Fan, speakers and all the rest are equal. The only differences you will find are aesthetics and screen size. I can tell you because I've had both a GX660R and a GT780DX. They are different platform generations ofcourse but they shared most of the features. GT70 and GT60 have a lot more in common. In fact MSI should have designed the GT70 as a dual GPU :p

Forgot GT70 has an additional USB port ;)

Almost all the MSI notebooks sold I my region of residence are now offered not only without an operating system but also without an ODD.

An ODD is optional. There's a caddy in the optical drive bay.

Thanks for the reply. Just trying to weigh up my options between the GT60/70. I don't think the extra weight or size is gonna bother me since it will mainly function as a desktop replacement. The MSI GT series ticks just about the boxes in terms of what I'm looking for. Solid keyboard with no flex, good build quality, aluminium based, good cooling, single GTX780m etc. Only down side is a lack of a service station where I'm at (Brisbane).

Then go for it. You won't be disappointed ;)
The GT780DX felt great. I now have to move often so size and wheight matters to me. A GT60 fits me more.
Here in Italy we only got one service center in Milan. You have to ship it there (400km from where I live), wait a month (they ship it to Poland for parts replacement...) and if something doesn't work again repeat. Very efficient, time and money wise... shipping a 5kg box insured costs 20 euros...

    Hi everybody... :hi2:
I'm really interested in the 780m, probably I will buy a xmg notebook in two weeks with this video card
There are some things that I don't understand about this card, especially the core clock, turbo clock, gpu boost 2.0 etc...
according to Notebook / Laptop Reviews and News - NotebookCheck.net the core speed should be 823 but in all the gpu_z pictures that I see it's always 771, 797 with boost.... ???!

and also it's not very clear how the gpu boost 2.0 works, and what different speeds you can reach with different notebooks
I'm a little bit confused about all these things *_* ?!?

p.s. I'm from Italy, so forgive me if I make some mistakes :) :p

Boost clocks you see in gpuz are a guaranteed minimum, they can go higher. They will go higher if temperatures are kept low.
