Much cleaner design (finally,MSI) smaller footprint. Awesome.

I can't seem to get the "compare" function to work on the MSI site so, "Do we know what the immediate difference, aside from form, is between the GE75 and the GE73 Raider?"

Damn that's a nice looking laptop. I'd totally go that route to when the RTX 2070 drops, if only MSI would be smart enough to realize that the GE Raider series costs way too much to not have G-Sync panels.

Found some video reviews of the GE75 Raider.
The first one seems to show the bottom panel is made of plastic, the USB type-A ports are illuminated and there's a dedicated key to the side of the keyboard to switch between keyboard lighting modes.
The second review has some benchmarks starting at 8:22. It also shows different panel specs according to "display mode" and mentions something about a Sabre soundcard, I believe (don't know if he says there's one, there isn't one or what).
The third video is pretty short review wise (then goes onto a League of Legends match) but has sieze comparisons with a 17" Titan.
Hopefully we'll see more reviews popping up!Mohamed Ilyas Hasan and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -
anyone know what is the battery life on 1060 version?
-
Here's another video of the GE75 with Overwatch gaming at 17:08
@Ultra Male, just so you can update the "Where to Buy" part of the first post: it appears the GTX 1060 w/Windows Home is available for sale for €1865 and the GTX 1070 no OS one for €1950 through Siabyte (spanish reseller, apparently).
On a side note, isn't it strange Europe is already getting deliveries and U.S. doesn't even seem to have preorders? -

This is exactly what I was looking for. Is anyone able to translate the russian review from 1:04 to 1:42?

This looks very appealing. Currently working on a GS60 and the dimensions of the GE75 are very similar length, width wise with minimal added height. Easy access to ram, storage drives and much more display in that form factor is impressive.

GS65 - 15” display, Bigger 80+ watt battery, Thunderbolt 3, only Max Q GPUs, louder fan / hot thermals, lighter 4lb but very delicate frame, must flip MB to upgrade ram, keyboard has no numpad.
GE75 - bigger 17” screen, only 50+ watt battery, no thunderbolt 3, Full 1070 gpu, more rugged but 1.5+lb heavier frame, keyboard has numpad.

Let me know if you end up joining the HIDevolution Gaming Team then I can tweak your laptop. these are the Ultra Male Tweaks:
1- Uninstallation of all the Windows Store Garbage Apps like 3D Paint, Print 3D, Alarms & Clock, Feedback Hub, Maps, Groove Music, News, Weather, etc.
2- Removing all Windows 10 Privacy Invasion stuff like Telemetry, collecting your activities that you do on your computer, sending your keystrokes to Microsoft, automatically installing suggested apps in the background, allowing Microsoft to conduct experiments on your laptop, disabling automatic driver updates through Windows updates, disabling Windows 10 ads, disabling Cortana, Cloud Search etc.
3- Disabling Microsoft Edge from starting up automatically in the background upon reboot.
4- Adjusting a lot of options in PC Settings like disabling Windows Tablet Mode (you have a laptop not a tablet), disabling suggestions appearing in the start menu, disabling automatically connecting to Paid WiFi Hotspots, disabling Game DVR which reduced performance in games, and a lot more.
5- Replacing Cortana with a much better search tool that finds results instantly called Everything which finds any file you want as soon as you start typing even a few letters of its name and it doesn't even rely on the Windows Indexing Service to do this!
6- Restoring the Classic Windows Photo Viewer from Windows 7
7- Restoring the Classic Windows 7 Start Menu
8- Restoring the Classic Calculator from Windows 7
9- Removal of the new and useless 3D Objects Folder that appears when you open "Computer"
10- Completely disabling Windows Defender from its roots (including all scheduled tasks and startup files) for those who want to install their own AV. ESET NOD32 Antivirus is highly recommended if you want the utmost security with the least system performance impact.
11- Updating all drivers to the latest versions in case they weren't up to date.
12- Disabling the performance hit that is caused by the Meltdown and Spectre patches recently released by Microsoft (optional, only if you don't mind having this security vulnerability and would rather have your CPU's full performance back)
13- Overprovisioning your SSD anywhere between 10-20% depending on how much space you can spare to ensure optimal and consistent performance at all times.
14- Blocking the Google Chrome Software Reporter Tool (which causes a high system load when it is scanning files)
15- Preventing Microsoft Edge from running on startup in the background
16- Restoring the missing default power plans in Windows 10 (ie. High performance, Power saver, and adding the new Ultimate Performance Plan)
17- Creating a system restoration image so that you can restore your computer the way it was after I have tweaked it within a few minutes easily!

Thank you for offering the extensive and generous Ultra Male Tweaks. I will keep you in mind when I receive probably the GE75. Lingering question to help me take the plunge: I came across a review by Nate Gentile in Spanish titled "Este portatil esta a un Defecto de ser Perfecto - MSI GE75". Around the 8:40 mark I believe the reviewer states what the laptop does or does not suffer from, mentioning heat among other things. My Spanish is too poor to discern whether he was stating strengths or weaknesses.
Is there a Spanish speaker in the forum who would be so kind as to translate his comments about heat and summarize any other notable findings in the review? -
This looks like a real nice upgrade from the ge73. Love that there are more 17 inch laptops with the slim bezels. I look forward to comparison videos between this and the gs75.

Note MSI announced the 17” GS75 is coming with RTX graphics! Actually all GL/GE/GS/GT series machines list RTX cards on MSI’s website!

Seem like an amazing gaming machine. Full pledge rtx 2080 (not sure what's the TDP MSI set for this) and 17" is much better for gaming and media than 15". Hopefully sufficient cooling (the 115w gtx 1070 was handled well by this, not sure about this rtx 2080). The price is still too hot to touch for me tough.

Doesn’t look like the GE75 has a thunderbolt 3 port. I don’t get the imprtance of one anyway is it purely for an external GPU? I would personally upgrade to a new laptop before I ever used a gimped external GPU so it isn’t important to me. Enless their is another use of course.

Can't wait to see review of the 2080 unit. Want to know how much performance gain compare to the max-Q version and if the cooling system is up for the task.
-
Anyone else planning on getting the GE75? Canceled my Alienware 51m order, it was going to end up costing me $6k CAD in the end after duty which is a little over the top lol, also realized I need a bit more portability. Needless to say the GE75 / 2080 is back on my radar.
