If you want everything to work you still need Svet BIOS for your MSI. Plus, everyone should support the work of @Prema for Clevo and Svet for MSI because the ODMs never do anything right. I don't think they know how, and if they do then they just don't care. Otherwise, they wouldn't be selling castrated trash.

HaHa. Yeah, buyers need to do their due diligence before they buying laptops. Too late if they sit home screwed, wonder why they can't replace the processor/Gpu. The pict fits very well bruh :D Hence we need to educate people even more before they jump into this situation :p Read the BGA venting thread. Yoo will find a lot of useful info ;)

News bro @Phoenix Intel 300 series chipsets to integrate USB 3.1 Gen 2 and Gigabit WIFI - Guru3d.com You're welcome:vbbiggrin:

BTW... BGA Trash will also come with 6C-12T as I know.

"Intel 300 series desktop processor motherboard will be based on the current LGA 1151 socket. Earlier rumours stated that the 300 Series chipset's Coffee Lake-S processor will provide 6 Cores 12 threaded CPUS, which is Intel's first in the mainstream platform to enhance the number of processors and threads."

Hey guys, I have just bought one of these magnificent beasts and am wondering the best way to get a good setup from the start. Is it work clean installing windows on it? Will it mess with any of the originally installed MSI software? If all goes pear shaped, is it possible to rever to the original installation/drivers etc. - i.e does this laptop have a backup of the original drivers etc in a separate partition?
    Cheers

I was getting 92-95C with IC Diamond........now the temps dropped to the mid 60's with CLU!! Superb! CLU works great when the heatsink fits well. Time to bump that system agent from 800MHz back to 1 GHz now as I lowered it due to high temps with IC Diamond:

    1) credit goes to HIDevolution, I didn't make this video, they did when I bought my laptop and sent it to me in case I need to repaste my CPU as I specifically requested for it so all the props goes to them:

Remember, always remove the screws in the numbered order 1,2,3,4,. then when re-screwing them back, do the reverse, start with 4, 3, 2, 1. Do not tighten them so much, the spring mechanism is enough to make the heatsink properly fit, just tighten them *enough*

    2) That was just the teardown, now on to how to paste Liquid Ultra:

Use Cpu-Z for correct info. Maybe Hwinfo can't read the values correct for your setup. Use latest version.
I expect you use ram sticks in dual mode.
Edit. Xtu bench is nice to show your ram work as intended. If problems with ram the score will be very crippled!!

after you downgrade the BIOS, reset it to default, then shut off the system. Now, remove the power cable for 30 seconds then plug it back in. Then power on, go into BIOS, and reconfigure everything the way it was.

with IC Diamond, I needed a -100mV undervolt to keep things at below 90C at load. After replacing IC Diamond with Liquid Ultra, I found that I don't need to undervolt, runs perfect @ 4.2 GHz on all cores. Heck if I undervolt by another -50mV or -80mV I can make things cooler but I don't need to right now so let the CPU have all the voltage it needs provided it doesn't overheat.

Oops, I just checked, my CPU does have a -50mV voltage offset

AIDA64 Extreme, then TOOLS > SYSTEM STABILITY TEST

Let the test run of at least 4 minutes while having HWiNFO sensors only as shown in the image above to see what your temps are like

If you get a Blue Screen of Death, then post the code you get here

you will need to disable automatic restart after a BSOD though in Control Panel > System > Advanced Tab > Startup and Recovery "Settings" > then uncheck "Automatically Restart"

that would allow you to easily write the error code which was registered after a crash

GPU Boost 3.0 = GPU self overclocking. Card boosts over advertised clock due to available margins. It's normal. But expect boost clock will decrease again the higher gpu temp you get. The average clock speed will be lower than what you now see.

@Phoenix what do you think is it really necessary to return this unit i dont want to do that if there is no need for it in gaming max temps goes to 86 on 4.1 -100mv here are the results from cinebench in idle temps are around 45-56 when browsing max to 62c.cpus when oc seems a unstable on cores look its all the time like that when game is on
