I have hardware flasher, I think vbios would be ok.
Can I get the msi official unlocked sbios?

If you want everything to work you still need Svet BIOS for your MSI. Plus, everyone should support the work of @Prema for Clevo and Svet for MSI because the ODMs never do anything right. I don't think they know how, and if they do then they just don't care. Otherwise, they wouldn't be selling castrated trash.Last edited: Apr 17, 2017Spartan@HIDevolution and Papusan like this.

HaHa. Yeah, buyers need to do their due diligence before they buying laptops. Too late if they sit home screwed, wonder why they can't replace the processor/Gpu. The pict fits very well bruh
Hence we need to educate people even more before they jump into this situation
Read the BGA venting thread. Yoo will find a lot of useful info

News bro @Phoenix Intel 300 series chipsets to integrate USB 3.1 Gen 2 and Gigabit WIFI - Guru3d.com You're welcome

BTW... BGA Trash will also come with 6C-12T as I know.
"Intel 300 series desktop processor motherboard will be based on the current LGA 1151 socket. Earlier rumours stated that the 300 Series chipset's Coffee Lake-S processor will provide 6 Cores 12 threaded CPUS, which is Intel's first in the mainstream platform to enhance the number of processors and threads."Donald@Paladin44 likes this. -

Hey guys, I have just bought one of these magnificent beasts and am wondering the best way to get a good setup from the start. Is it work clean installing windows on it? Will it mess with any of the originally installed MSI software? If all goes pear shaped, is it possible to rever to the original installation/drivers etc. - i.e does this laptop have a backup of the original drivers etc in a separate partition?
Cheers -

I was getting 92-95C with IC Diamond........now the temps dropped to the mid 60's with CLU!! Superb! CLU works great when the heatsink fits well. Time to bump that system agent from 800MHz back to 1 GHz now as I lowered it due to high temps with IC Diamond:

And here is another run with the system agent @ 1 GHz rather than 800 MHz:

i wish you could upload a full instruction for repaste.like video in youtube...

1) credit goes to HIDevolution, I didn't make this video, they did when I bought my laptop and sent it to me in case I need to repaste my CPU as I specifically requested for it so all the props goes to them:
Remember, always remove the screws in the numbered order 1,2,3,4,. then when re-screwing them back, do the reverse, start with 4, 3, 2, 1. Do not tighten them so much, the spring mechanism is enough to make the heatsink properly fit, just tighten them *enough*
2) That was just the teardown, now on to how to paste Liquid Ultra:

@Phoenix In your opinion was it worth getting this machine instead of what you were considering getting for the sake of personal comfort?
-
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
big time, at least this is machine that simply "works", the overall experience makes me happier. Better screen, better keyboard, better driver support, way better cooling -
@Phoenix
I've notice your memory clock says 2400mhz, mine is 1200 is there something wrong with mine -
Always double the value for ram!
-
I realise that but in HWinfo his says 2400 mine says 1200

Use Cpu-Z for correct info. Maybe Hwinfo can't read the values correct for your setup. Use latest version.
I expect you use ram sticks in dual mode.
Edit. Xtu bench is nice to show your ram work as intended. If problems with ram the score will be very crippled!!Last edited: Jun 1, 2017Bennyr6 likes this. -

DDR = Double Data Rate = multiply that value by 2 =- 2400 MHz -
xtu bench crashes everytime

Test stock clocks. Or raise the voltage. Thermal or voltage problems.Bennyr6 likes this.

yea that worked, never had problem before was only on 4ghz

where is the setting to see raw speeds in hwinfo

As expected. I would test OC with several tools. You find some in the @Phoenix SOFTWARE UPDATES thread.Bennyr6 likes this.

after you downgrade the BIOS, reset it to default, then shut off the system. Now, remove the power cable for 30 seconds then plug it back in. Then power on, go into BIOS, and reconfigure everything the way it was. -

Why didn't you undervolt that 7820hk at 4.2 ghz?
-
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
with IC Diamond, I needed a -100mV undervolt to keep things at below 90C at load. After replacing IC Diamond with Liquid Ultra, I found that I don't need to undervolt, runs perfect @ 4.2 GHz on all cores. Heck if I undervolt by another -50mV or -80mV I can make things cooler but I don't need to right now so let the CPU have all the voltage it needs provided it doesn't overheat.
Oops, I just checked, my CPU does have a -50mV voltage offsetDonald@Paladin44 likes this. -
What benchmark can i use to see if some hw is corrupted im getting random unexpected restarts
-
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
AIDA64 Extreme, then TOOLS > SYSTEM STABILITY TEST
Let the test run of at least 4 minutes while having HWiNFO sensors only as shown in the image above to see what your temps are like
If you get a Blue Screen of Death, then post the code you get here
you will need to disable automatic restart after a BSOD though in Control Panel > System > Advanced Tab > Startup and Recovery "Settings" > then uncheck "Automatically Restart"
that would allow you to easily write the error code which was registered after a crashGENOCID, Papusan and Donald@Paladin44 like this. -

And the Tripod mess has now also spread to the GPU as well. Shared heasink as yooo know, is a ****y!!

thanks man, i ran it for 5 minutes no restart but gpu goes up to 1800+ mhz.....shouldnt that be max 1600+?

GPU Boost 3.0 = GPU self overclocking. Card boosts over advertised clock due to available margins. It's normal. But expect boost clock will decrease again the higher gpu temp you get. The average clock speed will be lower than what you now see.Last edited: Jun 8, 2017Spartan@HIDevolution and GENOCID like this.

@Phoenix what do you think is it really necessary to return this unit i dont want to do that if there is no need for it in gaming max temps goes to 86 on 4.1 -100mv here are the results from cinebench in idle temps are around 45-56 when browsing max to 62c.cpus when oc seems a unstable on cores look its all the time like that when game is on

that's perfect my well scrubbed friend! What better temps do you expect you are running on a very high overclock count your blessings and thank the Silicon Gods for these temps

lool i was panic as **ck its seems all good now gpu reach max 67c after whole day of gaming and cpu at 4.0 with -100mv all day max 86c on one core... temps are lovely now
