    Review
    Simply one of the best laptops I've ever used! I needed a lightweight laptop that I can travel with and I ended up buying this because it's lighter than it's competitors (Asus, Alienware) even though it's more bulky. However, the bulky design gives it the best thermals and lifespan out there!

    Pro's:
    Quality and build is A++
    Best thermals
    Best 1080p display
    120Hz refresh rate
    Steelseries Keyboard
    Easy to upgrade everything (excluding CPU)
    Easy to overclock to 4.2Ghz
    BIOS Menu A++
    Lighter than Asus and Alienware with GTX1080

    Con's:
    Track pad isn't the best
    Overpriced
    Fastboot feature doesn't properly work - unnecessary feature anyways (fix still incoming)

    You might wonder why I went with HIDevolution and the MSI GT73VR-425 instead of Alienware 17 R4 from Dell?

    Well, the answer is simple... HIDevolution offered me options far beyond my expectations and accepted my credit card while Dell made fun of me and didn't take the $3000. For instance, if you go to Dell.com and you try to make a purchase with an international credit card they will literally keep you suffering for months even if you live in the U.S and you would literally have to beg to Dell to take the money. From the beginning I wanted to purchase the Alienware 17 R4 w/GTX1080 maxed out. However, Mr Donald explained me the thermal issues it has from the factory, like how they stamp thermal paste and the heating pads that leave a gap between CPU or GPU or both not quite sure... and you can see that those issues are listed bellow:

    Huge thanks goes to @Donald@HIDevolution

    He was amazing and words can't simply describe it. He recommended me this laptop in the first place and it definitely made an influence on my purchase. Furthermore, the amount of time he spent with me on the phone patiently waiting is just incredible. He helped me to do the best purchase choice that I could've ever imagined.

    Donald if you're reading this you're the man.

    I'd like to thank Vivian @thattechgirl_viv for the effort and the hard work that was put in while customizing the laptop, and also for taking care of my laptop and making sure that everything is flawless.

    @RalfTech great review man!
    I am myself in love with this laptop. Just curious about the room temperature at which you tested in AIDA64 as those CPU temperatures look awesome at 4.2GHz.

    Really want the gt73 too but only have 2k usd to spend and the base model w 1070+7820hk seems abit overpriced. Still hoping a good deal shows up!

    What's wrong with the trackpad? Nowadays it seems machines get the trackpad just wrong, so I am surprisde the GT73 has a standard working trackpad haha. For comparison, my lenovo T540p has one of the worst trackpads in history. Something that was finally fixed with the P50 series.

    As for fastboot, I believe it doesn't work because of the overclocking nature of the CPU. Since the machine overclocks at BIOS, it interrupts with the fastboot option so MSI autodisables it unless you disable overclocking. I remember reading about it somewhere.

    It's definitely expensive, but I believe it is worth it. The cooling performance is excellent, and the overall package of screen, keyboard, components etc make a very compelling solution.

    You can also look up for older models, I've seenthe previous GT73 series with 6820HK often being discounted. The only thing you would be sacrificing by going with the older models, is maybe slightly slower CPU overclock. I've seen 7820hk consistently get 4.2 relatively easily, whereas 6820hk seems to more commonly be found at 4ghz. Mine maxes at 4.4ghz but requires ungodly amount of voltage, so I settle for 4.1ghz.

    Yeah MSI Senior Tech support told me that is a rule implied by the BIOS make (I think it's American Megatrends) where if they detect a K or overclockable CPU that is, it will never allow Fast Boot as the BIOS has to set the parameters for the CPU upon every boot so you cannot have that quick fast boot which skips these checks

    I think I've seen this Hwinfo setup before :D But I prefer the setup without shadows. And you should rename your graphics in the sensor panel :cool:
