Congrats on your purchase! I was also a BGA guy my entire life... until this laptop came along :D

You should be getting a receipt from Pauline from Eurocom soon. If not, it's possible that your credit card has blocked the purchase, which means you might have to manually approve the purchase (happened to me). Pauline will let you know if there was a problem initiating the charge. After that, it can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks for your notebook to arrive, so keep in touch with them. They are a relatively small company, so you may have to send them an email every once in a while to check on the status of your order.

BGA is for tablet, phones and mini laptops(14" and smaller) :)

Hows the headphone audio? From the forums, I read that Sabre DAC was really good. How about for this model which is ANSP 3D Sound Tech?

Sounds good! I went ahead and called my card company and there's no problem. Hopefully I get a status update from eurocom in the morning. I live in Hawaii and I'm leaving for Japan in 20 days for 2 weeks. It's cutting it close but my fingers are crossed.

So after reading about your guys experience, aside from a repaste (I have kryonaut), anything else I need to keep an eye out for? I do plan on benchmarking it first at stock to see where I'm at of course. I don't plan on running on an oc cpu. Base clocks would be more than fine for me at the moment. I'm not a heavy/serious gamer nor use any rendering or video/photo editing programs. Games I play occasionally include but not limited to: Total War Attila/Warhammer, Ark survival, Fallout 4, Gears of War 4, Cities skylines, and the skyrim remastered edition when it comes out. Out of curiosity, I will push the 6700k just to see how far I can go.

With that said, I don't have much experience in overclocking cpu's. My first go at it was actually the 6820hk I just had and I used XTU. Unfortunately, I ran into issues with it and didn't realize until the end that the cpu most likely was the culprit and not my inexperience (heck maybe a combination of both too lol). Any tips/advice I should know before doing that? I opted for the 230w adapter for now.

Also, this is the first time I'm ordering a laptop without a hard drive. The Evo 500gb m.2 option they had is $120 more than on Amazon lol. I'm assuming it's as simple as plug and play and installing Win 10 via the USB key? Would I have to load drivers on a separate USB to install the Evo before I can install the os?

I personally really like XTU as it is super user-friendly, but you can also use Throttlestop. Without liquid metal, you probably won't get far overclocking. However, you should be able to get a nice undervolt @4.0 GHz... which is still better than what many 6820HK's can reach, and way ahead of what the 6700HQ offers.

It should just be plug and play. Just don't forget, after you install the SSD, hit the delete key to enter BIOS and change the boot order to your USB. Not sure about everyone else's experience, but for me, installing using the Win 10 Anniversary .iso did not work. I had to install using a previous version of Win 10, and then update to Anniversary edition.

Welp you folks talked me into it. I have been looking into pascal equipped GPUs and this one sounded the best. I ordered the Eurocom F5 as barebones as I could get it. 1080p Gysnc with 6700 and 1070. Ordered a X400 500GB SSD and 16GB DDR4 2400 RAM to install. Look forward to getting this things and putting it through its paces. Thanks for all the info everyone has provided.

Good to know its the "del" key. I thought it would be one of the F keys.

Quick update, I emailed Garry for a status update and I found out its to be shipped either today or tomorrow! Wow that was fast!

Nice to see all these new owners joining the ranks. I think you guys will love this laptop. Eurocom has confirmed on here we will have Kaby Lake CPU support via a BIOS update. I would also imagine that we should have the ability to upgrade our GPUs in the future as they also seem to support that on their other laptops and we have the new "upgraded" desktop class CPU motherboard support. All something the BGA laptops can't do.

@Mr. Fox has a test system being sent to him from Eurocom and I would assume with that ship date you mentioned he should have his hands on his system soon.

Hey man, you're the one on YouTube who said he'd be trading in his 1060 for a 1070, right? Just wanted to know if you're going to be posting any more video game benchmarks on there because I'd be interested as I am most likely going to purchase one too.

Maybe the title should include "Eurocom Tornado F5 / *Fangbook 4 XTREME VR x00" in its title so such buyers can have an easier path to this thread

Edit log: Specified the Fangbook model

It will never have a 1080.. The MXM slot on the 16L13 only supports up to 100watts.. The 1080 needs more power than that.

Did you buy your Windows 10 through Eurocom also? Did they also gave out the drivers via USB or something? I plan on doing the same thing as you: buying my own ssd.

For the other owners of this model, what version of Windows did you guys install (Windows 7 or 10)? I read that Windows 10 breaks some games and have some games that are Windows 10 only.

Will a 6700T have significantly lower temps than the 6700? The most I'm going to be doing on this machine is occasionally gaming, so I know I don't need a 6700K (yet). Trying to decide between the 6700 and 6700T.

Yes it will. I would still caution you against the 6700T though. If temps are your concern I would still get the 6700K and then simply downclock the CPU to desired speed and temps. It's a versatile CPU and will command a greater value and resale value in the future. Should the day ever come that you decide you need more CPU processing power you will have that option.

I had your exact same dilemma, but I think the cooling system will sufice for the 6700 non K without much effort: IC Diamond from Eurocom + some undervolting; also the 6700 will surelly (Correct me if I'm wrong) be better binned than the 6700T, so you should be able to undervolt it quite a bit more

"Fangbook 4" covers a lot of make / model clones, you might want to be specific to the MSI 16L13 model - whatever that model name / # is...
    https://www.cyberpowerpc.com/landingpages/Fangbook4/

    There's even an MSI GT83VR "Fangbook 4" :)
    https://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Fangbook_4_VR_EXTREME_SLI_3000_Gaming_Laptop/

Adding a generic "Fangbook 4" would open the floodgates to lots of different laptops unrelated to the MSI 16L13.

Actually the MSI 16L13 covers all the "named" clones, I don't think you need to start adding clone make/model's to the title, there are going to be a lot of them.

You could start another thread for the CyberPowerPC version, like there is another thread for the Eurocom Tornado F5:

I ordered my license through Eurocom. I emailed them regarding the drivers and they said it will be included but didn't say how (maybe one of these guys can clarify?). I'm assuming by USB. If not, they do carry the drivers on their website so it wouldn't be that hard I suppose to download them manually. The install of the SSD should be pretty straightforward, plug and play and boot off the USB to install Windows as @keftih mentioned.

They include a driver dvd disc. Really makes no sense because the laptop doesn't have a dvd drive. They should really include a cheap usb drive.

Regardless most drivers are installed automatically by Windows, and you can download the drivers to a USB via their website after your'e up and running. I only recommend to anyone have the WiFi drivers on a thumb drive ready to go because those are usually the troubled ones that Windows won't automatically install and well you know how that will work out.

Well I thought we could include the name and brand of the 1-2 major resellers as to make some people's life easier, like the "Sager and Clevo" threads. Why branching if you can put most of the relevant info in one place, and more specific ones in their specific threads?

    Just an idea anyway

6700T would have significant lower temps because of it's very innate low voltage requirements.. It's also considerably fast given it's low voltage.. it does 3.4ghz across 4 cores.. When you compare it to the 6700HQ BGA, that cpu only does 3.1ghz across 4 cores.

Here you go, sorry for the delay.. i'll work on OCCT later.. but this is pretty informative of how cold this system runs:

ALL BENCHES WITH AUTO FAN (Super quiet!)

3.1ghz (6700HQ speed) (I like how my CPU temps here are nearly half of what the new AW15 is doing with a 6700HQ, sorry for the stab AW folks!)

About 8-10c warmer. Keep in mind i'm de-lidded and using liquid metal on the die and then Kryonaut on top of the IHS and Kryonaut on the GPU. Then again @Talon pretty much matches my temps with just a repaste (no de-lid).

Fan speed is also something worth mentioning. @Diversion runs delidded+liquid metal, and I think @Talon uses max fans. Either solution is viable for keeping temp very low, both have their pros and cons.

Looks like it's the G-sync 4K as well.. that's nice.

Also one important thing to note.. the 4K Samsung is a 40-pin eDP.. which must mean our 16L13s support 30 and 40 pin on the same interface.

That also means we should be able to use the Alienware 120hz G-Sync.

Thanks a lot for this, exactly what I was after! And really impressive as well, especially considering just the use of auto fans!

Do you see similar temps when gaming? Any games push your temps higher than this?

Gonna be buying one of these in the next couple of days I think. Was holding out for more impressions of the AW15 and things aren't looking great for it so far.

Those temps are insane ! Good job :).

Test witcher 3 ultra and let's see the temp, normally it shouldn't go higher than 7-10°c above your 3D mark temps. If the laptop manages witcher 3 than you're ok for everything else.

I've been trying to find that panel on part sites and they've been sold out. It's about $25.00 more than buying and installing myself, but that is a lot cheaper than trying to buy from ebay which is selling the panel at double the price. I'll be configuring mine with that panel for sure.

Scroll down to the display section. Summary is that it's a good panel, but there are some issues with precise color and visibility outdoors which is not a big issue for me.

There's actually a 4K display option on ebay, but is still maxwell.

I have to say I'm not a huge fan of how Pascal handles overclocking. I have plenty of thermal headroom left, yet the GPU insists on downclocking anyways. On top of that, the power limit is overly restrictive. This isn't a flimsy Razer Blade... we actually have proper cooling to handle higher TDPs.

I really wish Nvidia would release an optional vBIOS for mobile 1070s. So much performance is kept locked away

Well cool news folks.. You can raid a single m2 slot to the 2.5" slot.. Raided a 1tb m2 to a 1tb 2.5 and the results are good.. Essentially double the read/write performance at 128k stripe RAID0.

This is a great setup because now I can leave the raid setup for those two drives and put the new Samsung 960 Pro in the last m2 slot as my primary OS drive. And then my storage drives are much faster than leaving them separated!

This is locked down as default by Nvidia, however some BIOS modders such as Svet and some others can unlock it to allow more headroom for overclocking.

Only that nobody's been able to unlock a Pascal vBios so far.. :/ But in theory yes, once it's figured out, we will rejoice.
