    Hello,

I have an MSI GS43VR; I have been quite happy with this laptop since I got it. I play a lot of Overwatch and decided to upgrade from the laptop monitor to 144hz. I have an ASUS vg248qe monitor connected to my laptop via miniDP -> DP cord. in Display Settings -> Advanced display settings -> Display adaptor properties -> monitor it has both monitors as "Default PnP Monitor" and there is a 30Hz and 60Hz option (nothing more). The miniDP is in the Thunderbolt 3 spot. Is it possible to get 144hz with my laptop on this monitor? if so, how?

    Thanks!

Since you're connected to the mini-DP port to DP it is most likely routing the display via directly to the dGPU. In this case yes you should easily get 144hz driven by the laptop.

Go to the Nvidia control panel and create a custom resolution under change resolution menu. Simply change the 60Hz to 144hz and hit test. If it works and it should just save it and then apply it from the Nvidia Control panel. Now if you go back to the windows display settings it should also show 144Hz.
