    what is the command to send messages to another computer through a network ?

    like #) mesg [email protected] ?

    i have been searching the manual files and cannot find it anywhere

    just wondering :)

    tried talk and it worked but i got to the screen that said waiting for the invitation


    talkd didnt do anything really

    "type" was the old command I believe. It depends entirely on what is installed on the machines.

    Just throw out commands here in their correct syntax and arguement to send messages to another computer on the network


    Not a Linux guru :eek:
    just learning command line stuff now .... Just went over permissions and how the work
