i've been looking at getting a 700m specifically for portability with linux so i can connect via wifi and burn dvd's on the go. i was also wanting to get wow going in linux. i know wow is mediocre in windows on the 700m but was wondering if it would function better in linux. my other option is getting a m1210 which would actually be perfect, however, it's about 400 dollars more. does anyone have experience with running wow in linux on a 700m?

700M has a crappy Intel 855 GME graphics adapter that barely runs it under Windows. Therefore its hopeless to even try it under Linux.

I suspect Linux will run fine on the 700m though as noted it probably won't be a very good gaming machine.

The order of game performance goes like this

Windows XP > Linux w/ wine or cedega > Vista

Don't expect better performance under linux unless there is a native version of the game (such as UT 2004).

Depends on the game. Some users see better WoW performance on Linux than Windows.
