Just wondering if any of you know how Linux mint would function on my TOSHIBA Satellite L350D? I've heard that linux doesn't always work on certain computers. I'm fairly new to linux.

It's probably best to try it out using a "Live CD". Most popular versions have the ability to run from cdrom so you can test them out. You just download the version of your choice in ".iso" format and burn it to CD. Windows7 has the ability to burn ISO files, and vista has a 3 party addon that will do it. Once you have the cd made, just boot the laptop from the cd.
