I was wondering if the "HP ExpressCard Analog TV Tuner" is compatible with Ubuntu or Mepis (I just heard that Mepis 6.0 has built on top of Ubuntu's hardware support).

Also, would I have any trouble running these distros of Linux ontop of HP's own QuickPlay Linux-based program? Or with Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network w/Bluetooth or the 128 MB Nvidia Geforce Go 7400 Graphix card?

I was wondering the same thing about the "HP ExpressCard Analog TV Tuner." I planned on getting the dv2000t with that TV tuner and installing Ubuntu with MythTV if possible. That would be great. I do not think it will work though.

As far as running a Linux distro on these HP's. I doubt that would be a problem as long as you leave HP's Quickplay partition alone (if u want quickplay to still work anyways).

The ''Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network w/Bluetooth'' and ''the 128 MB Nvidia Geforce Go 7400 Graphix cards'' should both work. They have all been out for a while now.

I see that you posted this a couple of months ago, did you figure any of that out. Please correct me if I am wrong, since I am just speculating :D It would be very helpful

The wireless card listed is supported out of the box by Ubuntu. nVidia also has drivers available for the GPU, though I'm not sure about the TV tuner.

I'm not sure about the card. However, you have to do some research before buying a card since Linux support is kind of spotting in this regard. I finally setting on one of the Hauppage devices (I got the external one with hardware encoding) because it has good Linux support.

Hauppage, ya I have been looking at those. Which one did you get? Do you plan on using MythTV or Freevo with it? Also, what distro do you use?

    Thank you,

    Thanks again,
