I asked this in the M860TU troubleshooting thread, and was directed to this sub-forum. Hopefully you guys will be able to answer my question better than them.
My problem is with an ubuntu live disc not booting or installing on the m860tu laptop. Specs are in my signature, and I've got 160gb of blank space ready for a Linux partition.
The error code I'm getting is this one here:

This occurs when I try to boot the live disc from ubuntu 6.06. The reason I used this version is because this is the only one that actually gave me an error code. All others (8.10 32-bit and 64-bit) simply hang and give me a command prompt.

The problem might be with the Intel Turbo Memory. Vista is the only official supported OS listed by Intel.
Try posting over at the Ubuntu forums, they'd be better suited to solve your problem.
Sorry I can't be of more help. -
Given your laptop's hardware, your best bet is to stick with the latest version of whatever Linux distro you want to use. In Ubuntu's case, 8.10 or better. Googling around it seems like some M860TU Ubuntu users were able to get 8.10 to boot correctly by passing the following switch to the kernel boot command;
Code:acpi=off
Good Luck.. -
I've tried the acpi=off command, as well as mem=4096m so it recognizes my RAM properly.
Nothing seems to be working.
