    Ubuntu and VirtualBox

    I can't seem to push the resolution of Ubuntu past 800x600. I have given it 128 MB video RAM (max) and HW acceleration, and gave it 4 cores and 1 GB RAM.

    Have you installed Guest Additions within the guest operating system? That enables better resolution amongst other things:
