    Ubuntu and Battery Life?

    How is it? I really like the GUI and am pretty fed up with Windows.

    The batterylife under Ubuntu, for me, is almost the same as in Windows. In many cases it's actually better.

    For me windows xp + NHC undervolt = ubuntu lowest cpu scaling for battery life comparisons for my laptop.

    vista + 1GB turbo memory = fedora

    (the turbo memory helps quite abit on battery life actually)

    now if only fedora gets turbo memory i will have a decent battery life :p

    As long as you dont do any serious undervolting in XP or Vista, battery life will be about the same.

    by about i hope you mean within 20min right? cuz i know if i dont use turbo boost the estimated time left is about an hour and 40-45 (with turboboost it is just under 2hours) and on fedora im getting just under 2 hours

    I get just about the same battery life on my Inspiron 6400. All the parts share the same power saving features between OS'. One thing ATi's drivers are good for is they support powerplay.
