good documentation. in regards to your internal mic, when you have issues in ibex with the internal mic, do you get an error and did you check and see if the sound and volume control settings match what's in hardy? i recall having to set it to digital in the volume control properties. btw, do you have the m1330 with the nvidia 8400 or intel 945? hmm...when i get time, i'll see what happens if one installs the dell 8.04.1 iso and upgrades using the dell repo's for 8.10.

    yay thanks ..
yep i did try .. its a major issue that doesnt just affect ubuntu.. i think its a pulse audio problem.. some say it would work if pulse audio is removed.. but i havent tried that and would certainly not recommend it. unless u know what you are doing.
    hmm
nope i have only one m1330 :( and it uses the intel intergrated x3100 card.. but installing nvidia its not hard at all infact the open source nvidia driver is installed by default. but lacks 3d acceleration to get that you have to install the proprietary driver from nvidia .. a matter of /system/Hardware Driver and follow the prompts .. reboot andf you are done.
wow is there a dell repo for 8.10? i didnt know .. i guess i would grab it myself. my dell came preinstalled with ubuntu but i hated the fact that i had no control over the way my partition table was setup. so i removed it and installed a vanilla ubuntu. which i then tweaked to work just as well only this time on my on terms.
