Hello. I have a Clevo P650 laptop, with CPU i7 6700HQ and GPU GTX 970M, running Ubuntu 14.04. After the laptop goes to sleep or I put it on suspend, when it wakes up everything seems to work including the keyboard, but the screen remains black, doosn't turn on. And the only solution I have is to force the laptop to shut down and turn it on back, using the power button.

Could you help me with this issue? I saw on internet, that there are other people with the same problem, but I didn't find a viable solution. Thank you!

I had this issue on an old Nec laptop with 14.04, but in my case closing the lid and re-opening it brought the screen output back.
My lid power preferences were set to do nothing as well. Never bothered to find a fix, I upgraded to 16.04 since and I don't have this issue anymore.

Thank you. Any other answers and possible solutions to fix the above problem? Or should I make a new thread on the Clevo section of this forum?
