Hi guys, i'm running 10.04 32-bit on a Fujitsu E8410 with a nVidia 8400M G graphics card. somehow, the Fn keys for brightness don't work. the bar shows up and goes up and down, but nothing changes. the brightness applet doesn't work either. I have heard that you could copy "video_brightnessdown.sh" and "video_brightnessup.sh" into acpi and it would work, but acpi is owned by root and I can't edit permissions, thus i can't copy anything into acpi.

how can i get my brightness working, preferably through the Fn key combis and not the terminal?

    Thanks!

sudo su .. to become root in terminal .. or execute any program with sudo in front to start program with root rights.
