    Has anyone here tried Symphony?

I downloaded the iso for it just to try it out on the second partition of my hd.
It's got a nice looking interface but I found it really annoying overall. It seemed really buggy for one thing, that being it wouldn't shut down, I had to turn it off manually, and when I set up the second partition for it, it told me to reboot and then gave me the option to make the install at which point it wiped out my Ubuntu installation with Symphony.

Another thing that I find annoying is, and this distro was touted as the "easiest to use interface out there," is that there aren't any ways I could find to change administrative settings in the GUI. Maybe if you're really good at CLI you could edit everything but I'm used to working graphically and I found this a bit of a turn off.

Yeah it is. It's designed for lower end computers and has a MDE(Mezzo Desktop Environment) interface. http://www.symphonyos.com

That's interesting. Looks neat. I know that Linux is amazing about working on ancient computers - I have heard that you can get Debian KDE to run on 486DX desktops. It takes some work, though. Now that is INSANE!

yeah... I took a look at that, and I must say that the idea is pretty cool. very "task-based" interface.

The GUI looks great, very simple but nevertheless a nice design. I'm going to try it.

That's what I thought. A nice looking easy to use interface. I didn't at all like what I got though. Maybe it's still an early release and they haven't gotten it to where they wanted yet or maybe there were sacrifices made to make it easier to run on old hardware.
