I recently downloaded Ubuntu 8.10, and my university requires me to change internet options. It gives instruction for IE 7, saying that I need to uncheck the "Check for server certificate revocation" option. However, I don't know how to do that. I need to do this to get onto the internet.

Any help would be appreciated. I googled some related searches and found nothing.

Ask them again to clarify. Also, since it is a laptop you can bring it to them.

Well, the IT department isn't open until Sunday, so I can live until then. However, I would like to be able to do it sooner. If anyone knows a way, please post.

So you're unable to connect without this option? Because it doesn't look like it should be an issue with initial connection. I did find something similar in Firefox, but if you can't gain network connectivity, it won't have any impact

preference > advanced > encryption > validation > use the oscp to confirm....

I'm not sure of that, though, it just looks like it's probably the same thing.

I tried what you said, Ethyriel, but couldn't find the oscp option things. I messed around some more but came no closer to finding a solution
