So I was trying out Natty this evening and when trying to install a flashing tool for my phone the ubuntu software center refused to touch the file saying it was a bad quality package and was dangerous... Now, I can take the transition to unity and the introduction of the universal menu bar but this, I don't understand. Why would you implement something like this? A package that works fine on every debian based distribution would suddenly stop because Canonical said so? What the heck? Said package worked fine when installed using dpkg but I'm not sure I like the direction Ubuntu is headed with decision like this.

Ugh. Another reason for me to skip canonical in future releases.

Why would you complain about issues like this, you're using an unreleased, alpha version of Ubuntu. No need to spread bad PR because of you issues with this software.

Well if I hadn't complained , nobody would have pointed me toward the launchpad bug report on that particular issue and I would have kept wrongly assuming that this was a new "feature".

You could have had a look at the bug tracker on your own. This is one of the reasons why they exist.

Did you miss the part where I say I didn't know it was a bug? When it popped up it looked like something you would see on fedora when selinux act overzealously...

    No.

Having a look if there is already a bug report related to a strange error message is always a good idea.
