Hi all. With the death of my linux desktop with the DVD burner I'm having trouble burning from my parents XP computer. I need a FREE NO LIMIT DVD burning program capable of putting a linux ISO onto a DVD. I've been using CDBurnerXP Pro 3 but it keeps bugging out on me.

I've tried two different versions of the same file (Sabayon linux) but it gets an error at the exact same point on both files. I doubt both files, from different sources, were corrupted in the exact same spot.

Hmmm... When I read the thread title I was going to recommend CD Bruner XP Pro lol. I used it to burn the Sabayon 3.2 Mini-ed iso no problems, but that was just a cd iso.

Remember, however unlikely, it could be the Sabayon ISOs that are playing up.

Same file two different sources at 76% each time, same error each time seems more like its the program, not the ISO. But I guess you could be right. I dont want to download it again though, it takes 2 days on my connection :(

I have the CD version but I like the fact that the DVD version comes with everything including the kitchen sink! I'd love to get it running.

Edit: I tried burning a Mandriva DVD ISO I have and it gives me the same error but at 48%....This is a good ISO I used it once before.

    well that sucks...

XP can't burn DVD's natively, right? hmmmm...

couldn't you boot a Linux LiveCD and burn with the utils from there?

Would the fact that I have the ISO on a USB Hard drive cause this? I've burned off this same HDD on my old computer and on my laptop before though.

    Edit: post 900...

Might be best to eliminate it as a variable, anyway.

Well, the problem may have been attempting to burn from the USB disk. It burned off the internal hard drive without issue. But I used the free trial of Cheetah to burn it instead of CDBurner XP pro. So I dont know if that program was just bugging out or not.

But here I am running off the Live DVD of Sabayon. I'm in love! This distro is awesome!!! I think I may write some kind of review or something on it....

It is very impressive, isn't it? Now, I just wish there was a binary version of it. I hate compiling from source. Installing gcc took around 40 minutes.

I recommend you give the live DVD a spin. It beats out the CD Live cd by a long run. Only problem is I cant get the XGL features working on my laptop in either version. The DVD version doesnt detect it as working and the CD version says they work, but when I turn it on it crashes the graphics card real bad....

It's what I use. I've burned countless discs with it varying from the various editions of GParted LiveCD to Windows Vista back when I was testing it and SUSE 10.1 when I was testing it. It's never let me down and has done everything I need it to. Made by the same people as DVD Decrypter.
