This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I'd use VistaBootPro...it is the GUI based equivalent and does all the work for you.

    I also agree, although I would use GRUB personally. I'm just much more used to it now.

    It seems a little complicated. I have not tested with Vista (will be later today) but I prefer to use just the default Grub install that some distributions include in their setup script. It doesn't require any editing to install and afterwards I just change the "Other OS" in the grub.conf file to Windows.

    Good stuff.

    Useful if Dual booting Vista and XP(or eariler).

    I would personally just mess with the "Create a Backup" & "Making Changes to the Boot Configuration Data" Sections.

    The section below that seem like trial and error.
