Unless you've been living under a rock, you know that Linux Mint 6 "Felicia" is nearing release.

While the release is not finished, the main iso is done and uploaded to the servers(check the mirrors). There are still many things not yet finished, like the x64 Edition and the new "Universal" Edition.

Overall my experiance with Mint 6, having jsut installed it has been awesome, it's fast, elegant, and smooth, even the LiveCD was relatively smooth. The new Mint tool are really nice, especially Mintinstall and Mintupdate.

I'll have a more thorough rant up later, so just hold on ;).

The code names go by this:
The first letter is the next letter in the alphabet from the last
The last letter always ends in "a"
    It's always a girl's name

Dunno, Mint has always been fast for me. I'm still on Elyssa, so I'll wait until Felicia is totally finalized before upgrading.

Besides the fact that it looks pretty as hell and has all my media stuff out of the box, I love Mint because it boots for me in under 15 seconds and that includes going through Grub and everything. Its such a great OS.

I like Mint and I use it, but the booting time is above 45-50 sec, which is not convenient for me. Which hardware do you have?

Well, I've installed mint 6 and it's running pretty smooth. I like it. The only bad thing is that can't update Linux Mint 6 since I'm using a school proxy. No authentication options... :( However, I can wait to do that when I go home. :) cheers!

I have it installed and running now. Running pretty well though. Weird thing happened though was it caused a problem on my Windows partition for some reason, I guess it just messed with the mounting, but when I tried to load windows it would go right back to the GRUB screen, and when I loaded up Mint it said there was an error with that partition... but using the Vista CD and repairing it fixed it right up. First time that's happened though.

The mintInstall is really great. It took like 20 minutes to refresh, but now that it's loaded up it's great, there is a screenshot of EVERYTHING! And a decent description of it. It's especially helpful for the games, hehe, see if it's worth downloading or not.

Installed it last night and love it! I had issues with Elyssa after upgrading Bios on my Dell XPS 1330 (fan on highest level and not able to restore after suspend/hibernate the biggest of them), but they are gone now! At first glance it works great! All my settings were imported. Only problem I encountered was that the wireless didn't work until I had installed all updates after the installation.
