    Home - LPI -

Has anyone here taken this certification?

I am currently considering trying it, but none of the people I know have done it. It seems to be very serious though, and I don't see anything more mainstream which is achievable by me.

The LPIC-1 ( LPIC-1 / The LPIC Program / Certification / Home - LPI - ) seems to be not so far from my current knowledge as a Linux only user for quite a while. I would obviously take the "objectives" list from that link and review the concepts and stuff. Would do the exam a few months from now.

I am a year away from finishing my engineering graduation, and I sorta believe being some sort of Linux certified could be some distinguishing factor.

Something that holds me back though is that I never heard of someone that has taken it and that it helped him/her find a job or something like that.

I was considering this certification at one point, but I have strayed... I am uncertain as to how much consideration job providers view this particular certification or how it compares to Red Hat's. Hopefully someone more qualified can chime in as I am interested in taking this again...
