I will be recieving my HGL-30 later today and was wondering if anyone had any success in dual-booting XP and Linux on an HGL-30 or even an HEL-80 as they are very similar machines. And if so, are most of the components compatible and what steps did you take to set up the computer to dual-boot?

I'm dual-booting Windows XP and Ubuntu on an HEL80. There are no compatibility issues other than your webcam and fingerprint scanner won't work yet. Everything else is supported out-of-the-box, which is downright awesome. Be sure to download the latest 686 kernel (sudo apt-get install linux-686). Previous 686 kernels had some performance issues for me until an hour after boot up, but the new kernel absolutely smokes. Be sure to get Compiz running on that HGL30. I've got it running on my HEL80 and it's a crowd-pleaser and easy on your eyes. Congrats on your purchase.

chizzua, I received your PM. Please let me know what you need help with here. You can get started by downloading the Kubuntu ISO and burning it. See http://www.kubuntu.org/download.php
