How fast is it? I'm very suspicious about ext4 but I love to hear about the speed improvements people always boast about.

My opinion is that it's at least as fast, or maybe faster than KDE 3.5.10...I'd say faster. I have EXT4 on my root partition, EXT3 on my /home...I guess I'll see how it goes. So far, so good :D

EDIT: I'm using Opera now, and it's on Fire!! Smokin' :D :D

ps: where ya been, Calvin? :D

I see pen drives in my sleep. I am going to get one of these distros to work if it's the last thing I do before I smash my pc.

I hear that you don't get the full speed improvements unless both partitions are ext4. I've been a lot of places, would be complicated if I tried to explain it all. You could PM me if you really wanna know. :D
I've always used ext3 so ext4 is very new to me.

Im using Ubuntu 9.04 and have it on Ext4 as well. I'm also not using the provided initramfs for Ubuntu, and am shocked at the speed. Boot is much faster than what Ubuntu usually is, its almost as fast as my cut down Gentoo install.

Don't feel alone...I've been silently failing. I went out and bought an 8 gig lexar for this, and all I've managed to do is get Puppy to boot 'ONCE' :(

I can get MInt and Ubuntu to boot with no problem depending on which installation method I use. Getting everything to work as a normal hdd install is another story, special effects, dvd playback, running persistently etc. and have it boot properly has been the problem.

Do you have trouble with your point stick? I disable my touchpad but it's still active when I am using the point stick and hit the touchpad. This problem is well known to Dell DualPoint touchpad/pointstick. Do you know any work around this issue?

I haven't tried to disable my touchpad yet, so I can't comment on that. I'll check it as I usually disable touchpad because it drives me nuts... :D
