You probably want to assign a compose key (usually AltGr). It depends on what version of gnome you are using. Prior to gnome 3.6 you can go to settings->region and language->layout->options and expand the Compose Key Position. After Gnome 3.6 it is under settings->keyboard->shortcuts->typing->compose key
Then you would press AltGr (for instance) followed by , and then c to get ç

What led up to the mouse click making a character? What did you change or install?
-
I am not making any mouse click. It just seems by default when i click ", c" i get ¢ instead of ç

It should be / c for ¢

I discovered the reason is that in English Keyboard of UK extraction that ¢ is the result for "AltGr" + "comma symbol" + "c".
Is there anyway to change this? I need to have the UK keyboard set.
