I got a independent numlock external numpad for my laptop. Basically what it does is when you press a number key it will quickly toggle numlock, send the keycode, and quickly toggle again. Not a clean solution, but that's how it works. This behavior seems to confuse some kind of denouncing feature under X and unless I type very slowly, some key presses will not register. How do I get ride of the denouncing or whatever that's causing the issue?
