    Hi everyone, i finally got installed my linux distribution, and i chose Ubuntu.
    Everything was perfect, except for my wireless card, i cant get it to work! :mad:

    The blue LED is off all the time, an it works perfectly in Vista, i got an Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG in my Dell XPS m1530, can anyone please give a hand here, Thanks in advance...

    the kernel provides the iwl3945 module so you can either set up your wireless through network manager or the config file. your wireless security settings for your AP and ubuntu need to match. to get the little blue led to light up, you'll need to install linux-backports-modules-hardy-generic.

    I,ve already tried installing the backports and nothing happened, well, last night worked, but when i turned on my notebook today, it was down again...

    That's very odd - the iwlwifi project provides very good support for both the 3945ABG and 4965AGN wireless chipsets. Perhaps you should try another wireless manager, such as Wicd. Just follow these directions. Use only the 'Installing Wicd in Ubuntu' section, and make sure you substitute 'gutsy' with 'hardy' in the line that you're supposed to add in the package manager.
