Hello. I installed and extracted the Ubuntu files I downloaded. Now I am lost because I don't see a executable file or anything that might help me install this operating system. How do I use this Linux software?

The file you download is an iso file, a disk image. Without extracting it, burn it to a cd, using Nero, or other such software. Remember though, to burn as an image.

Once this is done, put the disk in your machine and boot from it. Click the "Start or Install Ubuntu" button, and wait for it to boot up.

Once booted, on the desktop will be an install icon, just go through that. Guides to partitioning can be found on sites such as http://www.ubuntuforums.org.

    Good luck with it.
