Fluxbox desktop with a dock at the bottom. Full of security and 'insecurity' software like sniffers, etc....anyone try this? I'm just tried a USB install from their liveCD with built in USB installer, but something went wrong...checking it now.

It's interesting to say the least. I'm still trying to get it installed on a usb with their usb installer, but checking forums for why it's not finding the kernel to boot.

Looking at the number of distro's being tried, I'm thinking "the Zoid" is actually quite a large linux user group... :D j/k

kids hated ElPenguino and wouldn't shut up about it LOL

MoonOS? I'd never heard of it....looks like a Spanish Elive :D

the distro hopper stopper for me has been Mint Xfce...although PCLOS 2009.1 works on this machine. I've just been doing a lot of live CD's looking for the holy grail :D ;)

EDIT: Mint Xfce seems much faster on my machine than the Mint gnome 64 bit, so I'd like to see a 64bit Xfce.

MoonOS has a really nice LXDE version.
It is also has some striking similarities of Linux Mint. (check out the default IRC chat channel :p)

That's actually a pretty nice distro....I kept the LiveCD :D The developer who I think is from Spain, just needs someone to correct his english in his custom dialogs :D Pretty nice I'd say.

Some of us just don't feel the need to tell everyone what distro they're currently using. :p

Though, at the moment, I am looking for a good match for my MSI Wind.

    and some do: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=4630935#post4630935 ;)

Yep....that's why I ask opinions....I pretty much know the arch fanatics, and kubuntu fanatics, but the rest are a mystery...especially the pathological hoppers.... :D this forum is almost dead anyway.

My daughter has an MSI wind, not bad. I ran across a netbook optimized distro the other day..can't remember which one...there are hundreds of them...I was checking them out from the DW 'waiting' list...I'm going hunting again...I'll post back any decent one I find...what about Arch?

    How is it bad?

Linus uses Fedora. He's a KDE fan but he stuck with Fedora even if it meant using Gnome.

Ubuntu is popular because there's a lot of sheep who think there's nothing else. All the development is towards Gnome and KDE is given low priority along with the Nubuntus, Zubuntus, Wubuntus and Crapbuntus.....
